Our Policy

Payment Policies

You must arrange for payment of your classes in order for your registration to be completed. Most classes run continuously from September to June, with tuition charged monthly. A deposit is required at the time of registration to hold your spot. If you prefer not to use a credit card we can accept e-transfers or post-dated cheques. You will need to email us at the office to register without a credit card.

Withdrawal

If you wish to discontinue please notify us prior to the next billing date. Level 4 and Level 5 require a commitment to a semester of 15 lessons. If you must withdraw please contact us by email. Any refunds will be calculated from the date of notification and will include the cost of any Home Materials you were issued.

Kindermusik Playdates or other SINGLE CLASS experiences - 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule.

Covid Health Precautions

The plan starting September 2022 is that we are following current rules from the province. At this time we are not planning to require vaccinations or masks, though both those things are highly encouraged as we gather in a group to sing indoors. Your teacher may choose to wear a mask. If your family have symptoms of any kind, do not come to class. Stay home and we will book a make-up class for you when everyone is healthy. You may come to class if you have a negative home rapid test that morning; please inform your teacher if you have done that. If the situation changes in Manitoba, we will pivot to whatever is required, and we ask for your co-operation in keeping your teacher healthy.

Photographs

We will not be taking photos of the children in class. You can take photos or video of your own child and your instructor, but please do not include other members of the class without their permission.

Discounts

You may be eligible for any of the following discounts. Our office will apply it before your card is charged. Email us with any questions!

1. Two in the Same Class. - sibling discount of $10 per month for a second child in the same class. Exception: For Level 4 and 5 there is a discount if you are reusing a glockenspiel, dulcimer or carry bag from an older child. Email us so we know you have it! Amount varies.

2. Referral Rewards - if you refer a friend who enrols in a class, we will credit your account with $20 when they mention your referral.

Make-up Classes

You have unlimited make-up classes as long as you are enrolled. You can attend any other class of the same age level, at any of our locations. This is a great time for a grandparent, aunt or uncle to you’re your child to a class you might not otherwise be able to fit in your schedule.

Your make-ups expire as soon as you cease to be enrolled. There will be no refunds or credits given if you decide not to use them. If you re-enrol at a later time, you may use those expired make-ups. If you are traveling, we recommend booking a make-up or two before you go, and maybe afterwards as well.

If there is interest, we might schedule a few online make-up classes over Zoom. Let us know if you would find that helpful.

Text Messages

If at all possible, please ensure there is a cell phone number on your contact info. We are using this as an alternate form of contact for the many families who do not receive email reliably. We will limit using it to important or urgent communications. With your enrolment you give consent for us to send text messages. (If you do not have a cell phone you will receive the message by email.)

Email and Privacy Policy

Email is the primary form of communication for important information about your Kindermusik class (statements, changes, cancellations, snowstorms etc). Please provide an email address that you actively use. Your personal information will be used by us for class, registration and payment purposes, and will not be shared.

Release of Liability

With this enrollment, I release any and all rights and claims for damages against Nancy Aasland, Kindermusik Discovery, and its staff in the unlikely event of injury or illness sustained by myself or my child(ren) during the course of or as a result of my enrollment at Kindermusik Discovery.
